Just released survey findings from ComScore state that 14 Million Americans Scanned QR Codes on their Mobile Phones in June 2011. Highlights relevant to mobile marketing in the wine industry include:
- 35.3% of scans were from codes on product packaging
- 58% of scans were done at home, 39.4% of scans were done in a retail environment, 24.5% were done in a grocery environment
- 54.7% of the scanning audience have an income of $75K or more
- 68.8% of the scanning audience are between the ages of 25-54 years.
The numbers are building the case for making a move to a mobile marketing strategy sooner rather than later.
